Why Liberation Reiki + Somatic Sexology?
Somatic sexology asks us to become deeply attuned to the body: to sensation, desire, boundaries, pleasure, consent, power, presence, and the subtle ways we communicate beyond words.
Liberation Reiki expands this inquiry into the energetic body.
For practitioners of Erosomatic Touch, Sex Doula work, Sex Coaching, and other embodied practices, energetic awareness can become an important part of learning how to remain grounded in yourself while being deeply present with another.
What energy belongs to me?
What belongs to the person I am supporting?
How do I stay connected to my own body while holding space for someone else's vulnerability, pleasure, grief, desire, or transformation?
How can I cultivate practices that support energetic boundaries, discernment, consent, and sovereignty
The Amina Institute is excited to partner with Liberation Reiki, founded and facilitated by Syre Saniyah, Ph.D., to offer Amina Institute students and graduates an opportunity to deepen their relationship with energy work, embodiment, and liberatory healing practice.
Liberation Reiki emerged from the understanding that our energy bodies do not exist outside of culture, history, or systems of power.
Oppression shapes how we inhabit our bodies, influencing our access to pleasure, desire, agency, rest, and authentic expression. Liberation Reiki invites practitioners to recognize and work with these realities, offering energetic healing as a practice of remembering our inherent wholeness and reclaiming sovereignty.
In this way, Liberation Reiki becomes a quiet but powerful act of resistance against the systems that ask us to disconnect from ourselves, our bodies, and one another.

Reiki Beyond the Weekend Certification
Liberation Reiki Training centers an immersive and embodied approach to energetic sovereignty.
The intention is to move away from Reiki as a commercialized and colonized wellness intervention and toward a practice rooted in relationship, self-inquiry, responsibility, lineage, and liberation. Liberation Reiki invites participants into an extended relationship with the energy, teachings, and their cohort.
Over the course of the immersion, participants learn, practice, reflect, and grow alongside a community of people engaged in their own liberation-centered journey.
The Fall 2026 immersion includes training and attunement at both the Liberation Reiki I and Liberation Reiki II levels.
