Who Am I??

I am the healer's healer! I have birthed a lineage that melds the sacred, the erotic, and the knowingness within.

Helping make pleasure available to the body is my life's mission. I believe that "for the sake of pleasure" is reason enough, but it is not my only reason.

I have been in liberation work in one way or another my entire adult life. My journey began in 1997 as a Sex Surrogate working alongside Dr. Dean Dauw, laying the foundation for what would become a comprehensive, embodied approach to intimacy.

Even then, I understood that healing was not a linear trajectory but a spiral—a returning, again and again, to the places where shame, desire, and sovereignty intersect. I kept one foot in the corporate world and one foot in the world of sacred sexuality for most of my life, navigating the tension between respectability and radical truth, between the structures that demand conformity and the practices that invite us home to ourselves.

My passion for bodywork blossomed after completing training at the New Chicago School of Bodywork & Massage, a pivotal chapter that opened my eyes to a wide array of erotic healing modalities. Since then, I have taken an array of bodywork and anatomy classes, developing a level of expertise in pelvic floor wellness that informs every session, every workshop, every word I write. As a graduate of the University of Illinois, I have continued to hone my skills through trainings with a variety of organizations, including Embody Labs, the Strozzi Institute, and Somatic Experiencing. My erotic practices are informed by the old and new ways of both Neo- and Vajrayana Tantra, Kunyasa and Karsei Nei Tsang, which I studied under the tutelage of Mantak Chia. I am also attuned to Reiki mastery and have completed 200 hours in yoga teacher training.

This multifaceted background—as a community organizer, somatic healer, sex doula, educator, and coach—uniquely positions me to guide individuals through their most profound challenges related to body image, sexual trauma, self-esteem, and belonging. I am a passionate sexologist, intimacy coach, sex doula, somatic bodyworker, and activist. My trauma-informed, integrative approach combines academic rigor with lived, hands-on experience, creating safe and transformative moments and spaces. I am the co-founder of the American Association of Somatic Sexology (AASS), an organization born from the conviction that sexology education must be inclusive, embodied, and accountable to the communities it serves. Through The Amina Institute, I have created and taught certification programs—EroSomatic Touch™, Sex Doula Training, Somatic Sex Coach Certification, Authentic Consent Training—that are not merely curricula but living invitations.

My work is rooted in the belief that pleasure is not a luxury but a lifeline. It is a nervous-system resource, a portal to regulation, a practice of sovereignty. I teach that boundaries are not walls but dynamic spheres of access—fluid, responsive, and deeply personal. My framework, Spheres of Access, reimagines consent as a living practice, one that honors the complexity of human connection while holding space for safety, clarity, and mutual care. This is the heart of my conference talks, my writing, my mentorship: the idea that erotic communities of care are not only possible but necessary. That we can build belonging in spaces that embrace sexuality without shame, where the erotic is celebrated as essential to human connection and collective liberation.

I live in Panama City, Panamá, where I continue to develop training programs, host events, and cultivate communities that prioritize embodiment, consent, and ethical practice. I am a partner, a collaborator, and a lifelong student of the body's intelligence. My work is not separate from my life; it is my life. Every session, every workshop, every word I write is an act of devotion to the possibility that we can heal—not in spite of our erotic nature, but through it.

This is my path: a relentless commitment to liberation, to pleasure, to the radical act of showing up fully in our bodies and in our relationships. It is a path of service, of sacred rebellion, of love made visible through touch, through teaching, through the quiet and courageous work of becoming more fully ourselves.

"Imagine a whole universe full of ways for our energy to express itself, and we find our way to this human form, designed for pleasure and live in a world that gets in the way of it everyday."

In 2024, The Atlanta Institute of Tantra became The Amina Institute of Embodiment & Healing, marking a new era of my work. What started off as a desire to connect with people erotically and spiritually almost 30 years ago has bloomed into a full-blown institution of learning and in international community of healers, lovers and guides.
